The Attic Shoppe will be closed until further notice. I took the announced sale down for now. Don’t worry, the Isidore deck will be available later on. Beth, nearly at the end of her surgery recovery, hit a slippery spot at the top of the stairwell that leads down from her attic bedroom. The stairwell is enclosed and about as wide as a closet with a closed door at the bottom. She twisted her leg and then hit her head on the wall and blacked out the rest of the way down the wooden stairs. The final count is a broken orbital bone around the left eye that will require surgery to repair the muscles and nerves. Dislocated fingers, tears to the web of the fingers, a left knee completely torn open to the cap that was thankfully able to be cleaned out and sewn up at the time in the ER with follow up care to come. The rest of her is extremely bruised and banged up, but mostly her issue is with the head injury. She has a hard time focusing, keeping her balance, and not being in pain from headaches. Eventually she will soldier through most anything but we her family are putting our foot down on this issue and making her rest. The computer screen can be very harmful to her eyes right now. It comes at an extremely bad time on the heels of her surgery and she should be in GR this week to finish out summer stuff for her aunt. We are taking down contact options for the shop because the same questions are being asked and we don’t want her to stress over it right now. We hope that you understand and we do apologize for any inconvenience. We’re pretty sure she’d rather be working then holding up in the recliner with her injuries. Thank you for being understanding.
Yes, this month has pretty much surged past me. The first part of it was recovery from my surgery, which actually took a little longer than I expected. The second half of it was rather sad. My husband and I had to come to terms with the fact that our 18 year old much beloved kitty Evilyn was winding down. There came an evening where she stopped eating and just wanted to be left alone to sit on the fireplace tiles. She never came back from that. We took her into a very good and compassionate local vet.
I’ve been with that kitty since her birth. She was the runt of three black kittens born from one of my mother’s cats. She took absolutely no crap from the much bigger male kittens. And she, though seemingly all black, had one white toe. I called it her evil toe and so came her name. Not having her greeting me every morning has been hard. Since we’re in a rental property we decided to make a living memorial with her cremains. We laid her to rest underneath a lucky bamboo tree that now sits in her regular spot in the sun.
I will be very honest with you. Between post surgery meds, recouping, and losing my best girl I have not been up to much this month. I’m getting things back online though. Either by the end of this evening or tomorrow morning the Isidore tarot second edition will go up for sale one last time. Never fear. I will move onto the third edition that will have a change up in packaging but should be affordable for all price brackets and will come out shortly after the close of the second edition sale. I will be updating my coupon list when the sale goes online. Don’t worry about it selling out. I will sell as many as will sell through a timed sale.
One last quickie note: Since our tee shirts have become very popular (thanks to the ease of selling through RedBubble and Threadless I have a little extra income that I can put right back into my shop) I made a dedicated page that makes it easier to see what designs we have available and where you can get them. You can find that link here. I hope you’re all well.
