SEPT 25th-28th I’ll be in Boston for a marketing convention. I don’t have my laptop with me, just my tablet – which can be slow and cantankerous and doesn’t always fetch a wi-fi signal. So email replies might be slow Your orders are noted though and Maggie is helping with replies when she’s available. Any items bought (coloring books, squirrel cards) that aren’t apart of the below sales will ship Friday when I return. Thank you!
I almost feel like déjà vu, except this time our last chance sale is for the Isidore Tarot’s second edition. The second edition has been most popular and while I don’t rule out having potential special sales for it somewhere off in the future, in the here and now it’s time to retire it. The third edition of the deck has some new additions, a revamped book, and some packaging changes. We’re also in talks with a major gaming company about publishing the third edition of the deck to make it more readily available everywhere. I’m working hard on that, but as the Isidore deck is my baby I’m being very selective and thoughtful about offers from other parties to publish it. We’ll see what happens.
In the meantime, this sale runs from Sept 20th to Oct 20th. There is no limit to the decks available, only the time in which to order before we make our print order for them. Decks purchased through this sale will be ready to begin shipping on Halloween. We’re also opening up orders to international customers. For those who wish to buy a deck outside of the US please contact us directly with your city/country of origin so we can properly calculate shipping for you. And of course for the last sale you can go with the full deck packaging here (which might be the last time we offer something so elaborately packaged on a regular basis for awhile) or you can go the slimmer version of just the deck and book here.
I have to thank everyone who has helped promote this deck by word of mouth, or reviewing it, or just those wonderful folks who have been patient between the sell outs of the deck to the new sales. I’ve always been very proud of it and even more proud that its popularity continues to grow! :)
All good things must come to an end and that includes our first edition decks. Our Tea Bats Lenormand deck’s first edition has had a wonderful run and was very well received. Alas, in our efforts to keep a more uniform card size for our shoppe decks, the Tea Bats smaller cards are going to be a little bigger for the second edition. We also have a few new flourishes for its packaging. We’re looking to do our first second edition sale after the new year. So what does that mean now?
Well just in time for Halloween you have a chance to get the last of the first editions before we retire them. This sale starts today (Sept 20th) and runs till Oct 13th. We have no restrictions on the number of decks available, we just have a limited time to work with. Decks purchased through this sale will be ready to begin shipping Oct 20th and we will do our very best to make sure everyone has theirs in time for Halloween! We are taking international orders for this one, but we ask that you contact us directly with your city/country of origin so we can properly calculate shipping charges for you. Thank you!
The Attic Shoppe will be closed until further notice. I took the announced sale down for now. Don’t worry, the Isidore deck will be available later on. Bethie took a tumble down, of all places, the attic steps and has grievously injured much of the left side of her body. She’s looking at various corrective surgeries and an extended period of healing. The first thing that has to be dealt with is the very bad orbital fracture and a concussion that has left her with blurry vision. So we’re going to keep her on bed rest for awhile and give her a chance to heal. Thank you for understanding. *I have edited this from the original post. Bethie didn’t like my rather blunt run down of what happened to her. – Maggie
Yes, this month has pretty much surged past me. The first part of it was recovery from my surgery, which actually took a little longer than I expected. The second half of it was rather sad. My husband and I had to come to terms with the fact that our 18 year old much beloved kitty Evilyn was winding down. There came an evening where she stopped eating and just wanted to be left alone to sit on the fireplace tiles. She never came back from that. We took her into a very good and compassionate local vet.
I’ve been with that kitty since her birth. She was the runt of three black kittens born from one of my mother’s cats. She took absolutely no crap from the much bigger male kittens. And she, though seemingly all black, had one white toe. I called it her evil toe and so came her name. Not having her greeting me every morning has been hard. Since we’re in a rental property we decided to make a living memorial with her cremains. We laid her to rest underneath a lucky bamboo tree that now sits in her regular spot in the sun.
I will be very honest with you. Between post surgery meds, recouping, and losing my best girl I have not been up to much this month. I’m getting things back online though. Either by the end of this evening or tomorrow morning the Isidore tarot second edition will go up for sale one last time. Never fear. I will move onto the third edition that will have a change up in packaging but should be affordable for all price brackets and will come out shortly after the close of the second edition sale. I will be updating my coupon list when the sale goes online. Don’t worry about it selling out. I will sell as many as will sell through a timed sale.
One last quickie note: Since our tee shirts have become very popular (thanks to the ease of selling through RedBubble and Threadless I have a little extra income that I can put right back into my shop) I made a dedicated page that makes it easier to see what designs we have available and where you can get them. You can find that link here. I hope you’re all well.
Hello all, I hope the start of your July has been good and if you celebrate the fourth I also hope it was a good one! I have a few shoppe announcements to start this warm, firework-centric month off. Today I updated quite a bit of dated shoppe material to bring it up to the moment. There have been some changes as of late.
I sold out of the last of the Isidore Tarot decks last week. As of right now I do not have the resources in the shoppe’s piggy-bank to do another print run. There is a much longer winded explanation that will eventually be a link here, but for the moment I’ll just say I will be doing a limited time pre-sale for my decks and that will be the next opportunity to get them again. The first sale will of course be for the Isidore Tarot, which is the deck in the greatest demand. It will offer the deck for both US and international orders. It will be limited to three weeks, with delivery about three weeks after that to give myself enough time to cover demand. After that sale I will move along to my other decks.
Other than that, I know updates have been a bit slim and I’ve all but neglected our attic social profiles. My health has been up and down day to day so I’m trying to juggle me, my clients/commissions, and the shoppe. I apologize my shoppe gets the silent treatment now and then. I’m working it out. But for now this has been a drive-by updating. More to come. ;)
I have Isidore decks available again but only in a limited number. When this printing sells out I’m not sure when I’ll be able to order them again, but I’m working on that. You can grab an Isidore Tarot deck with full packaging here. For those who’d like just the deck you can pick that up here, there is also the option to add a book. These are available until I’ve sold out. And as mentioned in the previous post: These decks will come with my version of the Happy Squirrel card for tarot fans who collect decks with those. I’ve also listed them (at that link) for anyone who already has the deck and would like to add it to their deck. :)
So as I mentioned in my previous shoppe update there is an add-on card for The Isidore Tarot. I included it in the doll-size version of the deck (pictured here) and showed it off at my last convention and everyone loved it. I hadn’t included it originally because I didn’t have the space. I mentioned to a few people that I was planning to include it with the third edition of the deck that I will eventually publish. A few of my existing Isidore deck owners cried foul so I made a promise to make it available for anyone who’d like to add it to their deck.
So here it is! Since there are two editions of the deck I’ve made sure to order cards that have both card backs. These are being printed through the same printer whose cardstock and printing are pretty uniform. I’ve never had any decks that felt different than the others and the size is also uniform so this card should fit right into an existing deck. Below are options for each deck back. Select the one that matches your deck. Cards are a whooping $2 to cover the card, envelope, and stamps. Cards are printing and will be available to ship in two weeks. As for the card going into the deck, it will be available in every deck for the third edition and I will be including one in any second edition orders before then. Please note that the very first decks (the square cards on lighter paper printed through my original printer) I made before giving them a proper edition number I can’t make cards for. It would be nearly impossible to match the cardstock used back then. I’m sorry about that!
Hello all! I am on the mend and getting the online version of my shoppe back up. I’m still pretty wiped clean of stock, however, some of my inventory from a previous outing has finally gotten back to me now that I had the resources to get it shipped. This means I’ll have a few decks available immediately. There are a few Tea Bat Lenormands in there, I believe two Butterfly Circus Lenormands, one Sepia Stains Tarot, and one last Halloween open edition deck, which I’m not sure at the moment is the bordered or no-bordered one. Also a few Black Ibis first and second editions — both officially retired now. Sadly I do not have any Isidore Tarot second editions in there for immediate shipping, read below for more on that. I do have one of the decks from my first proto-type deck run. Those decks were not corner rounded and the artwork is square to fit that design. It’s on different card stock as well — a bit thinner. I only had about sixty (if I remember correctly) of these decks printed back in the beginning so I consider them more of a collectable as far as that deck goes. I’ve also been slowly catching up with my back-log of site inquiries. I do apologize for taking so long. So I’m working on listing those things.
The Isidore Tarot — I will be listing a few of these tonight as well, though I don’t have them on hand. After sharing my frustration with my printer’s new price hikes they were wonderful enough to give me a thanks for being a customer we’re sorry we’re getting expensive discount for six decks. After these I’m going to have to find an alternative way to market the deck to keep up with demand. We have some ideas. Also, for anyone interested, I’ll be listing an add-on card for the deck. I never included my Happy Squirrel card in the Isidore’s previous editions because the extra card put me over the limit of cards per deck with my printer. It didn’t occur to me I could print them separately to offer. I’m slow like that sometimes–the clockwork upstairs is getting rusty! Anyhoo, I will have them printed with both the first and second edition backs for anyone who’d like to add them to their deck. And to be precise, mine is actually the Happy Squirrelthulhu card seen here in the mini deck. Speaking of which, I’ll be listing the mini decks too I think. Don’t quote me on it just yet. I’m still trying to make sure I don’t ahead of myself as I’m getting better. But for now, these are the things I’m working on. :) Edit: Squirrelthulhu is available now!
Hello all. The Attic Shoppe is experiencing some downtime at the moment for two reasons. The first reason is at the moment I’m simply not up to the task of keeping up with inventory needs and orders. The second reason is that I’m having a hell of a time keeping up my inventory in general.
I won’t go into super TMI details here (you can always visit my personal site for that stuff) but I am under the weather at the moment. Those who know me are aware that I’ve gone through a pretty big weight drop in the last year and a half. One of the side effects of losing weight rapidly is apparently exploding gallbladders, in a manner of speaking. Mine is having a go at me. So much so that I feel like I could narrate a new show called When Gallbladders Attack and it will follow that obnoxious lil bastard as he slinks around the body ready to shank anyone it meets and generally making any attempts at eating very unpleasant. Needless to say I haven’t been feeling well and being at the computer has not been a priority.
The other issue is with my inventory and the fact that I can’t keep enough of it on hand. My printer has raised their wholesale prices so I need to purchase in larger quantities to make my decks cost effective for me. I simply can’t afford that jump up in my budget at the moment. It’s a lot of small business brouhaha and figuring out the best way to run mine to turn a profit as well as make my customers happy. As a result I’m taking this downtime to get some small business advice on how to better organize what I have going on here. Unfortunately that means my decks won’t be available for the moment. It doesn’t mean they won’t be available again, just that I’m not offering them right now.
My contact form is currently down for the website as well. I have general info there. I honestly can’t keep up with shoppe inquiries and many of them are simply asking when the Isidore Tarot can be purchased again. I’m very sorry if I haven’t gotten back to you if you’ve contacted me there. Once my orders were caught up and I had no one waiting in the queue, I took the opportunity to step away from the internet so I could deal with my health. Right now I don’t have any of my normal back-up help to cover my inbox.
I apologize again for the shoppe’s downtime and I’m hoping it won’t be too long. If you’re in the Cinci Ohio area I do have a few events and we’ll be doing a few weekends at Trader’s World later on this summer. I do have products still available through Threadless and RedBubble, as well as new coloring books. More info to come. –Bethalynne
Good afternoon! Just a few quick notes for this Monday: Our website’s email server is having issues. Most emails we send out are bcc to our mail client as a quick reference and we’re not getting that mail and it looks like a few others aren’t getting our outgoing mail either. Right now I’m using my private email (bethbajema at gmail.com) until our host corrects our problem. Also, we have to go back to Michigan Thursday and I’m not sure when we’ll be returning. So I am putting our shoppe on vacation this coming Wednesday. I don’t want to get behind on orders. Hopefully it won’t be too long. Thank you for understanding! More to come.
It’s May already! I can hardly believe that. Seems like everything is moving along so fast this year. Of course it always feels that way honestly. I don’t have any big attic shoppe announcements for the month. The gent and I will be making that long drive back to west Michigan sometime this coming week. I’m not quite sure which day we’re off, it’ll depend on what vacation days he gets. Same with our returning. It’s only a partial work trip this time. My big brother is getting married to a very wonderful woman next Saturday so I’m very excited about that. We’re also going to attempt to continue the paint job started in a rush last autumn for my aunt’s home – our original Attic Shoppe. We were able to get a primer coat over the house in a three day period and now we have to actually give it the real paint job. It should be interesting. The money saved for the paints had to go to car repairs not so long ago, so now we’re back to figuring out where to get funds for the paint. Life and finances keep things interesting, don’t they?
On that note, it’s time for me to make my daily trek up to the post office. The people who come into that tiny PO tend to give me a weary look when I come in with my box of outgoing packages. I am one of those annoying people who needs to have all my stuff scanned before I leave. I’m not sure that there will be too many shoppe updates for May, but if there are, here is where you’ll find them. Have a wonderful day!
Our decks are back in stock. We’re heading out for the start of our first art shows and conventions. Maggie will be covering our email while I’m off peddling our wares. Orders will ship out May 1st when I return. I am getting out as many of the pre-ordered Isidore decks as I can before I leave tomorrow afternoon. Have a wonderful April everyone! Remember to check our blog for updates 🙂
This is the last chance to get the first edition Halloween decks, both the open and limited editions. This deck features only the major arcana and has been printed in very limited numbers. Our second edition is currently being revamped with the addition of the minor arcana and looking to be offered through a game publisher. More about that as we know more ourselves. In the meantime! These decks are all discounted and really, really want a forever home. *they’re giving you puppy tarot dog eyes* Update: These decks have sold. Thank you!
Happy April to you! Just a few quick product notes with our decks: We have the Butterfly Circus Lenormand and Sepia Stains Tarot back in stock in limited numbers and both are on sale. We’re discontinuing the second edition of The Black Ibis Tarot and currently have our remaining stock on sale. We’re still two weeks out on our Isidore Tarot and Tea Bats Lenormand decks because of the size of the order. We will have them available with full packaging and as just the deck. Also, we’ve changed up the just the deck packaging and the option to add the book. When the decks have shipped to us we’ll open up ordering on those. Lastly, we have the last of our Halloween decks available here. We’re terribly excited to say the second edition of the deck is looking like it will be published through a game publisher with all the bells and whistles. We’ll know more about that in the weeks to come. :)
I just okayed the proof deck for The Black Ibis Tarot’s third edition. It looks lovely and a preview can be seen here. This means I’ll be selling the last of the second edition I have in stock and tucking it away. Monday, in honor of opening day when I’ll be downtown in Cincinnati staring and the Reds parade, we’ll have a sale going on in the Attic Shoppe. This will include a just the deck quick buy and two of the very original Black Ibis decks. The first edition didn’t have a minor arcana and the packaging was pretty simple. I offer them now more as a collectable. There were only fifty of those decks originally printed years back. Sale info will be at The Attic Shoppe tomorrow. Or if you’re on our mailing list you’ll get a preview tonight with a discount code. :)
I am very excited to announce our brand new coloring book! An Autumn with Isidore Coloring Book is a combination of the original Isidore collages I created a few years back and The Isidore Tarot’s major arcana cards that came from that collection. These coloring pages have card meanings with them and the Isidore short stories. There’s also a little of this and that creating a book I’m quite pleased with.
For the last two years I’ve offered a free coloring page at conventions which lead to being asked why aren’t you making a coloring book? Which was a good question. So I’ve been working on this one to have something new for the upcoming convention and craft show season. Below are some samples of the coloring pages. The coloring books are currently printing and should be arriving next week, with shipping to follow. The coloring book is 8.5 by 11 in size and 95 pages. It is available for a reasonable and lucky number $13 plus shipping and handling. You can order your coloring book here.
I’ve added some of my better half’s beautiful airship paintings to our print shoppe. I like to stress that with Myke’s work sometimes you can’t fully appreciate just how incredible these paintings are until you get a chance to see them in person. The original versions are huge and done in a classic style with acrylic paints. Typically I lose my gent to them for a week to two as the painting becomes his total focus until they’re done. He starts with a white canvas and gradually brings coloring shading to it. Over this he starts to add his details. This process continues until the final piece has incredible detail down to hidden things in the scenery. The final paintings translate well into any size and the 8 x 10s are an especially nice size to hang more than one airship together. You can see the six prints currently available here.
Our popular Bete Noir collages are back in our print shoppe. Prints are 8 by 10 inches in size and printed on lustre photograph paper. Each print is $12.00 plus shipping and handling and are ready to ship within three days. Ordering options can be found by clicky clicking here. :)
Happy Wednesday to you all! Today we’re adding art prints to the site and the first ones to be posted are from our Sepia Stains Tarot. These are 8×10 inch lustre prints created from the original artwork from the deck. They’re $12 plus shipping & handling and are ready to ship within three days. Follow this link to select a print!
