Isidore Tarot Update

The Isidore Tarot Sea and Sand Spring Edition sale is officially over. The deck will be available again next spring. Thank you all so very much for making it a wonderful success as an alternative edition of the deck. And special thanks to everyone who has been using it for their readings and posting it to Instagram!! That has been really cool to see.

Right now the regular version of the deck is on sale until mid September. Decks for that sale should be arriving in a week or so, along with the books. When those arrive I’ll begin shipping decks for that sale. The next special sale will be brief and it will be for the autumn version of the deck that I have offered the last three autumns. This version of the deck is the same deck coloring with an alternative card back and special packaging with special extras. It’s only available in the full packaging and comes with all the bells and whistles. This year’s deck will have a few Easter eggs (or tricks and treats if you will) that I wonder who will spot. :) That will go up mid September.

This year’s autumn edition sale proceeds will be going towards helping get some repairs for my aunt’s home, the place where my Attic Shoppe was born. She has managed to get some help from the city as a senior citizen. This came in the form of grants to help cover some things and leave her with a much smaller co-pay. So we have some new windows, which are important in a Michigan winter with drafty old ones and heating prices that are getting ridiculous. It’s a start. She’s done a lot for me and it makes me feel good knowing these decks will not only be going to new homes but helping her out.

Pumpkin Spice Time

Happy Labor Day! Are you in a pumpkin spice coma yet? The Attic Shoppe’s big sale for the Halloween months is going to be our Madam Lydia Wilhelmina’s Tarot of Monsters, the Macabre and Autumn Scenes deck. The first edition of the deck was simply know as The Attic Shoppe Halloween Tarot and it featured only the major arcana. At the time it was a bit rushed to try and release it in time for Halloween. That edition was retired many moons ago. I’ve been adding the minors to the deck, tweaking some of the original cards, and doing a little more research on packaging options. I’ve been previewing new cards on Attic Cartomancy over the past month. Right now I’m putting together the pre-ordering options for the deck with hopes to have it up and running tomorrow the 4th. That might be a little wishful thinking given how large the sale is, but since a bug has me indoors hovering over tea and chicken soup and not outside at a picnic, hopefully I have the time to get it done. More to come.

Tea and Tarot Tuesday

Attic Cartomancy - Tea and Tarot Tuesday - Nine of Coins

From Attic Cartomancy: A little Miss Emma’s Tea in my favorite bee tea cup of my aunt’s. Miss Emma’s Tea features parsley, sage, licorice root, and fennel seed. It’s a nice tea to help sooth some of the things that ail us maturing women. 😊

Pictured with it is the nine of coins from my Isidore Tarot – a good card I use to think upon my slowly growing self confidence and enjoying what has come from my hard work. At the same time it reminds me not to get frivolous and chance messing up my accomplishments with foolish decisions. 🤔

Miss Emma’s Tea is an original recipe from the Orange Moon Tea Society.

Privacy Policy Update

An Attic Shoppe Trading Co. program notice: We’ve updated our privacy policy. It can be found here. We’re also going to sell directly through Paypal.com for awhile so we can accomodate international sales (hopefully) without issue. We’ve also begun work on the crowdfunding campaign for the Oracles and Flutter-Byes deck project! Busy and lovely times as we fall into the Hell’s oven phase of summer. :p

Quick Update on Sales Shipping

This is just a quick update on deck shipping for our last two sales: The last Isidore Sea and Sand deck goes into the post bound for its overseas home tomorrow. If anyone who has bought the Sea and Sand special spring edition is still waiting on theirs please contact us directly through your order receipt email. We’ll check on tracking and make sure it didn’t accidentally get over looked. We’ve been putting together a rather high volume of orders on packaging days and there is always room for human error. But all errors can be fixed!

Our Sepia Stains decks are on route with additional Black Ibis decks. They should have arrived by now but our printer has been having some delivery issues between them and the Midwest. Packages are already pulled together for orders. When the decks get here they’re ready for the mail. We were able to order more of the Isidore third edition before the end of the sale, so we’ll start shipping those decks as well. Speaking of Isidore, Beth is back up and running on nearly full steam again so she’s currently finishing up the sale elements for the doll deck.

We’ve been replying to inquiries through our contact form and not everyone has been replying. So just to note again: Inquiries through our contact form will be replied to from webmistress at atticdrygoods.com email address. Remember to check your spam folder if you’ve written us and note heard back yet. Our reply might be in there. Hope you’re all having a good day!

Shoppe Perks

Shoppe perks–Having the Gremlin But come keep me company as I work on the attic laptop. I could have gotten myself settled at the desk or up in the work room where the cats aren’t allowed. But then I wouldn’t get all the purring snores from this cuddle bug. So it was the couch. It helps that I was able to watch Orange is the New Black while I battled with wordpress.

June Update

Welcome June! It already feels like August. Well it does here. I’m putting on the title of Attic Ghost for a little bit. As you know our Isidore third edition is available for pre-order at the moment. Grab one while you can! And by popular request I’ve added Tea Bat art prints to our art page today. Links to ordering options are below. I’m helping out with orders this week. We’ve started on the Sepia Stains orders. I print out labels as I’m packaging to keep things organized. There may be a little catch-up time between receiving your tracking notice and when your stuff goes into the mail. I’m not quite as speedy as our shoppe-keep, but I’m learning fast! – :) Attic Ghost Maggie

The State of the Inbox

Picture me standing up with hands on my hips, with a determined look on my face as I stare off into the distance. Maybe I have a cape blowing in the breeze behind me. Can you picture it? No? You just think I’m being weird? Ah well, I do like the dramatics. I just wanted to update those who have been writing my shoppe and my blog. All the business related stuff has been covered by Maggie (thank you Maggie!), but that does leave a lot of my personal correspondence and art inquiries tucked away in a folder to attack when I could. My online time has been very off and on at best.

I am getting caught up on conversations, requests, and things of that nature that Maggie didn’t feel she could properly cover. My left eye (the one I decided to get an up close look at the stairs with) has been blurry since the surgery where they put the plate over my broken orbit area. The surgeon warned me it would be a combination of the injury, the heavy numbing agents, and most likely tiny and hateful gremlins living behind my eyeball. So reading was a pain and I was warned to be weary of eye strain with the laptop screen.

I was given the thumbs up by my eye surgeon this past Wednesday. Yays! With some glasses and groovy eye drops my eye is fighting the good fight. Everything else is pretty much healed. The bethalynne beast lives to growl another day. The surgeon, who is also a plastic surgeon, mentioned he could help correct my heavy eyelids if I had problems with them to which I said “Not my bedroom eyes! What would I do in this world without my prized resting bitch face?!” And there were giggles, but I was totally serious.

Happy Autumn Monday

Hello everyone. We have two new sales up on our products page. The Isidore doll size tarot and the second edition Tea Bat lenormand are on sale until december 5th. Both decks are listed at sale price for november. The Isidore regular deck will be on sale tomorrow as well when Beth is back online.

I can’t get into the shop’s regular mail at the moment. I double checked shipment tracking in Beth’s gmail account and it looks like most of the sale packages have been delivered. There are two missing packages the local post office found and are back on route to their destinations. One package seems to be returning to us. Beth will be back online tomorrow to tackle mail and site needs. Have a great day everyone! – Mira

Isidore Updates

The Isidore Tarot second edition sale is now over. Thank you for your orders! The decks are printing and should arrive mid-to-end of the week. The companion books should be here first of the week. We’ll spend the pre-Halloween weekend getting orders packaged up and ready for shipping. All decks go into the post in the order in which they were received. This was the first time we took international orders in a sale. For our new over seas customers please note that shipping times will vary for you depending on your destination.

We’ve had requests for extending the sale for a week longer. Unfortunately we couldn’t do that at this time. We took in a lot of orders and we don’t want our shoppe-keep getting too overwhelmed at the moment. However, given the number of requests and this being the last chance to pick up the second edition of the deck online, we may do a pre-Christmas sale in November for a few of our decks (including the Isidore Tarot) for those who want to pick them up as gifts. We will have the Isidore doll-size decks available during this sale.

More to come. Now it’s time to go plant ourselves in front of the television and take in a new season of The Walking Dead!

Off to the con

SEPT 25th-28th I’ll be in Boston for a marketing convention. I don’t have my laptop with me, just my tablet – which can be slow and cantankerous and doesn’t always fetch a wi-fi signal. So email replies might be slow Your orders are noted though and Maggie is helping with replies when she’s available. Any items bought (coloring books, squirrel cards) that aren’t apart of the below sales will ship Friday when I return. Thank you!

Biz-zee Biz-zee Biz-zeeeeeeee!

Bly the Steampunk Symposium Automaton by Bethalynne Bajema

Everyone meet Bly the Automaton! She’s a little creation of mine for the International Steampunk Symposium happening at the end of the month. I was tapped to do con posters, logo and a website revamp. The one request was if I could fit an automaton into the poster art and Bly was born. She’s named after the incredibly awesome historical Nellie Bly. I thought I would share. We’ll be vending there. Hopefully I see a few of you there at the end of the month! PS This is actually the more va va voom version of Bly for the “My costume may be the sexies but that doesn’t mean you get to be handsy!” posters. I’ll post the more happy go lucky Bly too.
